  • Added Hawaii and Alaska data. Due to limitations of Tableau (or more likely our knowledge of it) we cannot link the Hawaii and Alaska maps to the Continental US color scale. As such, HI and AK will always show up grey. But at least the data is there now! Ping us if you know how to fool Tableau into linking color scales across different worksheets,

  • Added a selector drop down to choose between “Markup per Unit” and “State Payment per Unit”

  • General prettiness / clean-up

August 6, 2018 (v. 1.2)

  • Lagging NADAC appropriately is critical to lining up acquisition cost with state spending. With this release, we altered the algorithms we are using to lag NADAC to improve the comparison. Initially, we were lag adjusting both generic and brand name drugs. However, we found out that brand drug NADACs do not need to be lag effected as they are based on WAC updates as these update are being published. As such, we split the generic and brand drugs apart, lag-effected only the generics, aggregated both to the year-quarter level, unioned them back to together, and then joined the unioned database with the state utilization database. There should be no change to any generic quarterly NADACs in this release, only quarterly brand NADACs.

August 3, 2018 (v. 1.1)

  • Dashboard was initially designed to only select one drug at a time, and therefore was not returning correct weighted average NADAC values when "(All)" was selected within "Select Drug." This has been fixed in the current release.

  • We added some more detail to the "tooltip" (the box that pops up when you hover over a state). It now also includes the total dollars spent, total ingredient cost, total units dispensed, and total prescriptions dispensed.

  • Added a color legend
